Browsing Assistant

Overview

The Browsing Assistant project aims to create a transformative AI-powered tool for
navigating and interacting with websites, addressing the frustrations many users face with
unintuitive and overly complex web designs. By combining AI-driven insights with practical
tools for web interaction, this project seeks to enhance user experience and streamline online
activities.

The assistant will be implemented as both a Chrome extension and a Python library, offering
accessibility to everyday users as well as flexibility for developers.

Key Features

1. AI-Driven Guidance

• A chat interface where users can communicate their intentions (e.g., "I'm looking for the
  return policy" or "I need to book a ticket for next Tuesday").
• The AI will highlight and annotate relevant parts of the webpage, providing step-by-step
  guidance.

2. Automated Actions

• Ability to click, fill forms, and take other actions directly on the user's behalf.
• Context-aware behavior to handle multi-step processes, such as logging in, searching for
  information, or completing purchases.

3. UX Analysis and Scoring

• Automated evaluation of a website's user experience based on interaction difficulty,
  navigation clarity, and overall usability.
• Assigns a UX score and provides actionable feedback to improve the design.

Advanced Functionality: Persona Simulation

The project will also include functionality to simulate artificial profiles, allowing the AI
to interact with websites in a consistent, human-like manner. This feature will:

• Start with a basic profile (e.g., an email address) and gradually accumulate characteristics
  over time (e.g., gender, preferences, subscriptions).
• Ensure persona consistency for repeated interactions.
• Enable semi-supervised persona development, where the AI learns preferences and behaviors
  over time.

Use Cases for Persona Simulation:

1. Testing Website UX:
   • Evaluate forms, navigation, and workflows using personas with varying preferences and
     characteristics.
2. Bot Automation:
   • Simulate real-world scenarios, such as filling out subscription forms, registering for
     events, or testing checkout processes.

Implementation Options

• Chrome Extension: A user-friendly interface for everyday web users, integrating the
  browsing assistant directly into the browser for real-time interaction.
• Python Library: A developer-focused tool leveraging Selenium and OpenAI APIs to provide
  programmatic access to the assistant's capabilities.
• Can work both with html and with render image of it (need a good tool to go from one to the other)

This dual approach ensures the tool is accessible to a wide audience while supporting advanced
use cases, such as automated UX testing and web bot development.
