By default nav_fw_control_smoothness is disabled. Which provides better fixedwing navigation turning and tracking performance.
But if this setting is placed at 9.. It causes considerable WP target overshoot, in windy conditions... Simply because it prevents the aircraft hooking into the turn as quickly as the navigation PID's are telling it too.
I think this setting is nice for smooth fixedwing turns... But it maybe better if it was only operable in cases when a turn is made without a target position. Like RTH climb out turning etc.
Or even if it was dynamic. By reducing the setting value, based on the tightness of the turn angle.
