As preparation for the M&C 2025 and general user resources we need to develop in depth demonstration/tutorial jupyter notebooks.
Here are my thoughts:
Base it on version 1.0
Cover the following topics/objects:
MCNP_Problem
NumberedObjectCollection
Cell
Surface
Material
To accomplish this I think we should start with a simple model and have a series of tasks that improve and complicate the model. Each task is probably a separate notebook with an answer key of a notebook/completed model. This would allow users to get back up to speed.
For this a Westinghouse 17x17, GE 9x9, etc. might be good to model. Though this has some export control concerns. One option would be to use non-sense values, or to get all the information from a single public source (combining multiple public sources gets complicated)
Tasks
Start with a simple pin cell.
Build the lattice cell and make a fuel assembly that's just repeated pins.
Switch to add instrumentation/ control rod holes using complicated fills
Fix material definitions that use 2600.50c, etc.
Fix material compositions for enrichment zoning, gad BP, etc.
Add an IFBA cell
Update model to be full height
Add axial and radial discretization of all fuel pins to allow independent depletion
documentationImprovements or additions to documentationfeature requestAn issue that improves the user interface.
