Hello.

I noticed that inside the app, It's very difficult to search and find games. The main reason for that is the search bar that appear in the website, is not there:

itch.io website:
itchioFirefox_SearchBar

itch App:
itchApp_SearchBar

I suppose the reason is to use the built-in search in the app, but not only is a little janky (#2729), it also doesn't show most of the games in Itch.io in the list (#2379), I don't know if It's only searching inside "cached" pages (¿Own games + items in collections + browsing history?), but also is a weird way to try to search games only in a list, when the website itself you can search and show a full listing.

For example, If I try to search "Twin Peaks":

Inside the App :
itchApp_SearchTwinPeaks
(No results)

In the Website:
itchioFirefox_SearchTwinPeaks
(There are dozens...)

My point here is it could be a way to fix this without refactoring how the app search work:

  • Make appear the search bar from the website inside the Itch App instead of hiding it.
  • In the app search, insert a last option like "Search in Itch.io: " what opens the itch.io search of that text inside the app. If there are items in the list, like i said, it appears the last one and if you click on it, It opens the itch search with that text, and if there isn't any items in the list, you can click or push enter to directly open the search page with that text.

I hope it can be considered.

Thanks in advance!
