Hello,
I have a relatively big french server and I would like to know if there is any plan to add localization to the bot, for the sake of consistency. E.g. you have a winner message both in english and in french (for the prize name) but it doesn't look great.

Thanks

This feature is dependent on JDA-Applications/JDA-Utilities#54

This feature is no longer dependent on JDA-Utils and will be ready to move forward with translations once the rewrite is live. A preview of the messages that will need localization can be found here (note: link will not work once the interactions branch is merged): https://github.com/jagrosh/GiveawayBot/blob/interactions-rewrite/src/main/resources/localization/messages.properties

Pinning this to the top of the issue board, as localization support is written and translations can now be submitted.

To submit a translation:

  1. Clone/fork the repository
  2. Make a localization file in the localization directory. File must be named messages-locale.properties (replacing locale with the key of the locale; for example, messages-de.properties for German, or messages-en-US.properties for United States English. A list of locales is available here.
  3. Translate each value from the messages.properties file in your translation file. Do not translate the keys! For example, the line in messages.properties that reads error.generic = An error occurred. may be translated to error.generic = ¡Ocurrió un error! in the Spanish translation file.
  4. Open a pull request when the full file is translated.

If you'd like to help with translation but aren't familiar with the GitHub workflow, please reach out on the support server.

I don't understand anything I just read. All I can tell you, I'm Russian; can translate whatever, if needed.

So... There's no any protocol to use translated locale files?
