Ideas to include/enhance the application:

  • Move to the Tumblr API v2 and register the application as backup tool. So we can use the OAuth API to authenticate to the website and download from non public websites.

  • Add the possibility to download texts, quotes, links, chats, audios and answers. Then we could use all this information and give a general idea about the whole blogs content, like the number of total posts, pictutres, videos, etc in the still empty detail view.

  • Save the column positions and width from the blog manager.

  • Parse Options from the commandline and add non-UI mode.

  • Bandwidth throttling so that the connection is not fully utilized.

  • User definable timeout for established connections so the crawler won't sit there doing nothing

  • use the posts creation time as file creation time

  • set a timer to refresh/autodownload blogs in a list

  • Maybe add pinterest or other tumblr similar pages?

  • Auto update the blogs in a defined time interval.

  • Download only original content, no reblogs.

  • Redesign the UI layout and the controls.

  • Move the blog index (i.e. .tumblr) files to a separate, user definable folder?
