I was going to start with just the 'core' data processing tools (filter/map/reduce/stats) but once im done there let me get back to you on these. at the very least i want to have a section in the guide that acts like a big 'jsonlines awesome list' and all of these would be great in there.

Ok sounds great. Yeah, I did not want to clutter your work. The awesome list idea is great. I will try and curate some others that I use.
