According to the README.md at https://github.com/rpm-software-management/libdnf the library is being reworked and should be considered unstable for the time being.

Once things settle down and libdnf / hawkey get predictably installable packages on PyPI, the hand-rolled NEVRA parser in SouFi should be thrown out, and the library version should be used instead.
