As a member of the ISIS Computing Group I want to be able to store my source code in a source code control system, so that I have a secure repository for my code.

'''Completion Criteria'''

  1. Source code control system to which I can commit source code.
  2. Simple instructions on how to use the system

'''Notes'''

  1. The main criteria are the system is secure, easy to use and (ideally) familiar to the team.
  2. Don't especially care whether we use Git, SVN, etc.

Decide on whether to use GitHub or set up a local Git server.
Sub-tasks to be done:

  • Tie Git into trac
  • Training in Git
  • Download Git & TortoiseGit
  • Set up accounts (use FedIDs)

We don't have to use Git. We could use another source code control system - e.g. SVN.
The primary need is to have a good source control system.

We've yet to complete the migration to Git.
We can mark this story as done when the migration is complete.
