StartOS backup function on Monero service fails and hungs the server #39
Comments
That's odd. What is your hardware setup? An I/O error could point to an issue with writing data to your disk |
I have the Embassy Pro, purchased directly to Start9, and the backup is sent to a NAS in the local network. I know what you mean, but everything else in the server and in the NAS works fine (run tests on the NAS disks and all is ok), only the Monero service during the backup process produces the error, so I'm not sure the I/O error is the real reason. Because the servers hungs right after it is difficult to get other logs. If you can't reproduce the error I'll try to SSH and see if I can run SMART tests on the server disk, |
Okay interesting, that would seem point to an issue with the service. Did you install this fresh or update from previous version? |
Fresh. I must say I was able to do 1 successful backup after the first install, fully synced. It started failing from the second time I tried and every time since then. |
Monero 0.18.3~4 , fully synced
Every time I try to backup the Monero service, either individually or with the rest of the services, it fails. What is worse is that the service then stops working and a few seconds later the whole server hungs and requires a physical reboot to recover it.
The thing is that I did a successfull backup the first time I tried after installation, but after that it always fails as described.
