When I start LCARSDE with OpenSuse 5.6 Leap I get this Information:

asus-f75v:/home/martin # /usr/bin/lcarswm.kexe
INFO: ::runWindowManager::start lcarswm initialization
DEBUG: RandrHandlerFactory::init::event base: 89, error base: 147
ERROR: ::startup::unable to load settings

During the installation there is no lcarswm.desktop in /usr/share/xsessions/

when I try to start after copying lcarswm.desktop in to this folder and try to start
I just get a black screen a few moments an come back to the Welcomescreen.
When I start lcarswm.kexe from Terminal then I get the Message above.

Thx for support
greetings
Martin

I forget to post the way I installed it on OpenSuse Leap:
https://software.opensuse.org/package/R-lcars?search_term=lcars

Hi Martin,

thank you for trying lcarsde. There is no package for OpenSuse that I'm aware of. The error points to the missing settings file in /etc/lcarsde, however ...

To install lcarsde on OpenSuse, I suggest downloading the content from the lcarsde repo (https://github.com/lcarsde/lcarsde). I'm moving all content there. The new release is not out yet, but it's working as far as I can see. Remove what you installed before. Check the requirements mentioned in install.sh and install the missing ones if necessary. Then run the installation using sudo ./install.sh. You can run the install.sh without sudo, but then the cp commands will fail and you will need to run them manually.

After that you should find lcarswm in the window manager selection in the login screen.
