Is there an existing issue for this?

  • This is a bug in RetroArch frontend
  • I have searched the existing issues

Description

When I start the game it freezes, but it is able to connect to retroachievements. It is entirely unresponsive, and only able to close the application by killing the process. The problem resides inside the while loop introduced by the commit found with bisect. Essentially if no audio is provided, the application will freeze.

Expected behavior

No freeze.

Steps to reproduce the bug

  1. Block audio somehow?
  2. Open retroarch and select game
  3. Start game

This is an issue on my side, since I do not provide any audio since my audio bluetooth setup has some issues. If i switch output things work again.

Only tested on pipewire.

Since freezing is likely not intended behavior, reopening.
