Fangs - Crash to black screen when transitioning to battle?

Not sure if you can replicate this but trying to play Fangs and the transition to the black screen to then go into the battle sequence, the game freezes up. I can still get back into retroarch's menu but the game won't progress. Is this Mac specific or does anyone else find this?

Edit:- This crash is caused by being in Sound Board 2 mode. Changing the settings to Sound Board 1 fixes the crash.

The only problem is now the game can only be played in the worse sound mode, but at least it does work at all
