LYRobotics released a firmware update on Nov 6th of 2017. It seems there are some major optimisations. This issue is to track the progress of this driver to be compatible with the new firmware.

Sorry for late and ineffective response. For personal reasons I haven't gotten anything done on this, and it might be a little more complicated to do the way I'd want to than is strictly necessary. I would want to cover the firmware update mechanism as well as the protocol changes, but I don't expect to get that done soon.

In the meantime, perhaps we should approach the firmware update mechanism and the protocol changes as separate features?
