might be worth archiving this project?

That is not related to whether or not to archive a repo. If no one works on the code, and it's already been explicitly made to inform people that no one will ever again work on the code in the README, then archiving the project on github allows github to tell people that this repo will not be maintained, by showing a notification bar across the top of a repo page.

Which is also not relevant.

If your npm package is dead, which this isn't, you mark it as deprecated in package.json, and if your project is no longer maintained because it's done and does what it's supposed to and you have no reason to ever visit it again, you archive it, and nothing changes except now there's a banner, and people can't file new issues/PRs. That's the whole point of archiving. To literally do the thing that this project's README.md talks about.

Why keep commenting when you're not the project owner? If @louischatriot still looks at issues once a year, they'll see this and they get to decide whether to act on this or not. Not you or I.
