Hi,

just a question about the status: There is an IDL jupyter kernel, but is there anything usable for GDL as well? If not, how usable is this kernel?

It used to support GDL, however this package has not been updated in years so it probably doesn't work anymore. It shouldn't be difficult to update depending on how much Jupyter has changed.
