My antivirus is shit and causing trouble. Is this the suite's fault?

No. Use an antivirus that's not shit. Windows Defender works perfectly fine and is free.

I want to move the suite to a different directory. Do I have to download everything again?

No. Remove the fstab file located in either msys32\etc\ or msys64\etc\.

Running the .bat file after moving the suite should recreate the proper fstab without need to redownload and reinstall everything.

Tons of errors while installing packages like git

Git and other packages use hard links which are unsupported in FAT systems (FAT32/exFAT). Reinstall the suite in a non-FAT drive like NTFS.

Is using an older version of the suite supported?

No. If you expect issues to be resolved, you're expected to be using the latest version available.
