How to use Parameter in Report Designer

hello!! I am new to majorsilence reporting. I need to pass parameter value through the textbox or dropdown in report designer so that data field will be filtered according to the parameter based value.
For example, I have used a query Select * from City which displays CityId and CityName from City Table. It has 10 records, I want to filter the record using Parameter which will take integer value and according to that value record will be filtered.
I have not embedded my designer in asp.net application. I just want an answer in My-Fyi Report Designer.
Please Help!!!!
