It seems that LS_COLOR should be set first?
Add the following two lines to dir_colors to solve this problem

NORMAL 00 # no color code at all
FILE 00 # regular file: use no color at all

Well, of course. How do you expect zcolors to be able to read your $LS_COLORS if you haven’t actually set $LS_COLORS yet? 🙂

I tried it with a couple of different light themes, and it works fine for me. Try picking different colors for your terminal theme.

Maybe I didn't set $LS_COLORS correctly before. if I don't set $LS_COLORS I get the problem I mentioned.

Yes, you are responsible for setting $LS_COLORS that work well with your terminal theme. zcolors just uses those colors. There's no way for it to know what your terminal theme looks like.
