38C3 in Hamburg happened this weekend and we had I think like between 200 to 300 nodes there. The Primary Channel was very active (100+ messages a day).
Expected Behavior
The iOS app should work normal.
Current Behavior
The iOS App got very laggy with viewing and scrolling through the messages. iOS users needed to delete the messages from time to time to get the App responsive again when viewing messages. (same happens on macOS)
Participation
I am willing to submit a pull request for this issue.
Additional comments
Not sure if I can provide anything useful to help debug the problem - but I though I'm going to open a bug anyway.

I can't comment on large numbers of messages, but I do have the same issue with large amounts of telemetry.
I'd love to see either: delete telemetry/messages older than x days/xxx pieces
or more ideally thinning:
Hourly telemetry will be retained for x hours
Daily telemetry will be retained for x days
Weekly telemetry will be retained for x weeks
Firmware Version
2.5.14 (1327)
