After completing the installation of Power CAT Copilot Studio Kit, you can grant security roles to your users so that they can configure new agents and tests.
It's a best practice to security assign roles via Entra ID group and team memberships, but you can also assign them manually and individually to users.

Power CAT Copilot Studio Kit Administrator | Full permissions on the Power CAT Copilot Studio Kit tables as well on the standard Copilot Studio tables, such as Conversation Transcripts. |
Power CAT Copilot Studio Kit Configurator | Full permissions permissions for user-owned Power CAT Copilot Studio Kit tables and Copilot Studio tables. |
Power CAT Copilot Studio Kit Tester | Permissions to create and run tests. |
- Go to the Power Platform Admin Center.
- Navigate to Environments
- Select the environments where you have installed the Power CAT Copilot Studio Kit on.
A great way to drive user permissions is to use Entra ID groups. That way users can inherit security roles automatically, simply by being member of a group, instead of individual assignment.
- From the environment overview page
- Go to Teams
- Select Create team.
- Set the required properties, and in Team type, select either Microsoft Entra ID Security Group or Microsoft Entra ID Office Group.
- Search and select the desired group.
- Select Next
- Select the desired Power CAT Copilot Studio Kit security role.
- Save

- From the environment overview page
- Go to Users
- If the user isn't present in the list, select** Add user** and add them.
- Select the user.
- Select Manage roles.
- Select the desired Power CAT Copilot Studio Kit security role.
- Save

- Edit, search, and select a security group.

Column security profiles are used to provide users or teams that are don't have the System Administrator role to access specific secured columns that typically contain secrets, such as Direct Line Channel Security Secret.
Note: if you don't store secrets in these columns, this step isn't required.
- From the environment overview page
- Go Settings
- Under Users + permissions, select Column security profiles
- Select Power CAT Copilot Studio Kit Column Security Profile
- Navigate to the Teams or Users tab and add the relevant teams and/or users that should have access to these secured columns.
