Whether to go forgo or not with having two same file '.venv' and 'venv' file for creating a project env

I was creating a project environment for the Django, following from VScode tutorial.

I did create a project environment but ended up realizing having two exact same .venv and venv.
I used command pip freeze > requirements.txt and python -m venv venv.

Since i have the two exact same files, is it okay to delete either of the file or leave it as it is?

what should I do?

Make sure you select the .venv as your interpreter, then delete the venv.

As you said, .venv is now my selected interpreter then deleted the venv.

I ran into another problem.

Unlike the no.7 which says I now shold see the selected env on the status bar, i see nothing of the sort on my status bar, instead seeing this :

Why would that be?
