Not sure: Can we have IPython terminal just like Spyder in VSCode or Not?!

I'm having difficulty figuring out the actual instructions (available online and here) to integrate an interactive IPython terminal with VS Code.

By interactive I mean just like Spyder (6 in case). There are very confusing open issues directly related to my question here:

and

It seems like this is impossible. Just want to verify it. If not please post it clearly here that it's not possible and if possible I appreciate it if someone can provide some clear instructions on how to achieve this.

The case has been open for 3+ years with no clear resolution

Looks like its a dup of #22139 and #17172 as you mentioned.

Lets contain all IPython related matters there, feel free to explain what features you really desire from IPython terminal as that will gather more visibility and help us gauge demand for this.
