@alaakl Either the install or the extension files might have gotten corrupted.
Follow these steps:

1. Uninstall python extension
2. Exit all instances of VS Code
3. ms-python.python extension dir under C:\Users\<your username>\.vscode\extensions
4. re-install python extension from marketplace
