Where I work we are only permitted to use extensions that have the blue ticket indicating a verified publisher. This is a hard and fast rule with no exceptions.
To help with quickly identifying safe extensions from verified publishes could a new filter be added to the Web Site to filter only for these ones.
As we are not allowed to install extensions directly using VS Code there is no need for this change in VS Code itself. We are only allowed to install extensions use the small set of verified publisher ones that have passed our own security inspection and been made available as vsix files.
