Virustotal analysis of the Windows executable

Can someone tell me why Virustotal analysis, found here is lighting up like a Christmas tree?

False positive, see #947 #1028 #1206 #1456 #1510 #1718 #1870 #2664 #2726 and #2751 .
Basically, gallery-dl is written in Python, that normally needs a Python interpreter installed and properly set up with the necessary dependencies. The executables have that entire thing packed into a single .exe, which looks very suspicious to shitty antivirus software (basically all projects using PyInstaller struggle with this too, not just gallery-dl).

You can also see it's bullshit from how all these antiviruses are unable to identify it as anything specific, only as something generally suspicious: "W32.Malware.Gen"(eric), "Suspicious.low.ml.score", "W32/PossibleThreat", etc.

if it isnt too much trouble, im trying to get it re-submitted in mcafee as a clean file ala their getsusp tool, will probably take a while, I don't exactly know the process for other vendors to re-mark theirs as good instead of bad

I think you would have to submit every release, sadly.

ffs......ill give it a few days then try scanning it again and see if it got unmarked.......soon as the subscription runs dry mcafee, you're gone from my computer i swear to everything
