I made a fork, how I publish it

I have made a fork to this mod that uses the base code, but have noticeable changes, like a energy bar, a thirst bar... I have put it on my git, but I dont know how to publish it for minetest. A guy said to me that I should add a pull request in the mod repository, but it doesnt allow me to do it
