tl;dr -

  • add a "friends" system
  • can add any username
  • usernames are searched by available player data in the server list
  • if a username matches, your friend may be there!

some caveats include the fact that MT usernames may differ per server, so it's not "truly" accurate. i have no intentions of gating the software behind its own accounting system, i don't want to deal with the headaches nor the fact that if i get hit by a bus the service would cease to exist and no one would be able to use the damn thing
