Is it actually possible to have articles as your homepage? #115

I simply want the following:

http://blog.com/article-title

But when I set my articles folder to be the homepage i still get the unnecessary:

http://blog.com/articles/article-title

I realise i could turn of friendly paths but I need them for other pages on the site...

Please let me know if there is a way around this!
