Is it a bug?

  • I know this is an issue with the app, and contacting Mullvad support is not relevant.

I have checked if others have reported this already

  • I have checked the issue tracker to see if others have reported similar issues.

Current Behavior

The DNS resolution is broken, apparently because NetworkManager 1.50 (which was released in October 2024) is "too new".

Expected Behavior

DNS resolution should work with NetworkManager 1.50

Steps to Reproduce

I am assuming:

  1. Install NetworkManager 1.50
  2. Enable mullvad connection (or attempt to do so)
  3. Check output of journal

Failure Logs

mullvad-daemon[50998]: [talpid_core::dns::imp][DEBUG] Can't manage DNS using NetworkManager: NetworkManager is too new to manage DNS: 1.50

Operating system version

Archlinux

Mullvad VPN app version

2025.2

Additional Information

NetworkManager Version: 1.50.1-1 on Archlinux
