active mode in sketchybar

i'd like to show an indicator in sketchybar when I enter different aerospace binding modes. There is an indicator in the native aerospace menubar icon but i'd like to display something unique in sketchybar. Is there a callback or similar that I can leverage for that?

nevermind, just found out a way to do this using something like this:

'exec-and-forget sketchybar --trigger send_message MESSAGE="SERVICE MODE" HOLD="true"'
