I manage the nodeconf twitter handle with Buffer.

http://bufferapp.com/

Before NodeConf this year I did a two month campaign with two tweets a day called "NodeConf Moments" which was pictures from various NodeConfs. That campaign lead to a dramatic increase in followers so we now have over 10K.

Buffer has a feature that allows me to add access to this account for other people (based on their twitter login). I'd like to:

  • Get more people pulling pictures from their events and resurrecting the "NodeConf Moments" stuff.
  • Do a quick call with anyone who wants access just to onboard them in to how we use the tool.
  • Setup some kind of process for people to request promotions for their event: tickets, CFP, sponsors, etc -- probably with GitHub Issues. This depends on other people also having access to get these out cause I can't handle all of this myself like I am now.

Any other ideas for cool stuff we can do with the twitter account?

"Setup some kind of process for people to request promotions for their event" - yeah this needs stucture to prevent random, event specific spam

If we use buffer we can at least limit the number of posts per day which is nice.
