Describe the issue you're reporting

I was just browsing the API docs at: https://github.com/open-telemetry/opentelemetry-operator/blob/1a0a729b0fc278cafb3c1f06fc2a04f5a257ef9f/docs/api.md, and it no longer renders:

It is currently 68658 lines. Could it be split into multiple documents?
