Hi, i'm using OPENATV 7.5.1 on Zgemma H7S reciver.
Starting with version 5.0, audio is faulty, or better, audio level is too low.
I use a soundbar connected to TV via optical cable, and hdmi from tv to reciver.
If i install a feresh image, i must put sound volume to 100% on reciver and at 30 (equal to MAX) to soundbar.
If i Try to increase offset of default volume on the appropiate menu, dosn't work.
I must set every single channel offset to ear something at appropriate level.
Can you fix this ?
I mean in version 7.4 things works flawlessy...

Let me know if i must supply more information.

Thanks in advance

Francesco

Do you have tested the latest build of ATV 7.4?
I'm asking because the volume changes of 7.5 are also in 7.4.

Try the AutoVolumeAdjust plugin from the other thread.

Try the AutoVolumeAdjust plugin from the other thread.

If @fbolzoni , hasn't used the AutoVolumeAdjust before then why should this plugin fixed the issue?

It wouldnt fix the issue, however it would automatically equalize his volume on all channels so he didn't have to keep adjusting the volume when its low. Using the plugin would just be a tempory solution to help him till the issue is fixed.

Hello @fbolzoni ,

please make one more test.
Install a clean 7.4 image that means no settings restore.
Then only add your bouquets and test again.

What I understand is:

You switch from channel a to channel b and the audio track is also switching from ac3 to mpeg and this cause different volume output but the volume level number will not changed.
Is that correct?

Can you do that again with ATV 7.3 .. just to be clear.

I can't understand, where the problem is.
AC3 and DTS normally when not downmixed give 100% level as broadcasted.
In earlier times the default box audio level was set to 50%. That had to be enlarged to 100%, to get similar volume for mpeg audio. Nowadays in the new images this default box audio level was defined to 20%. Of course, that value also has to be enlarged to 100% again, to get the same volume as in former times. We also had a huge diskussion in the team, because the broadcasting companies may have changed the namng and order preferences of the audio tracks. That can lead to now hearing another default audio track than before. The behavior could be also affected by code rewritings in the image additional.
If someone forewards the audio keys of the remote to the TV/AVR, in former times it was not easy to adjust the audio level of the box itself. Now there is an additional menu point in the audio menu /key AUDIO or YELLOW), where it aperars, when the VOL+/- keys are forewarded.
That all are global settings.

Hi Francesco,

What do you get if you type this at a shell prompt when you log in to the receiver :

cat /proc/stb/avs/0/volume

Regards,
Ian.
