Many OpenFGA Connections to Postgres

We seem to be seeing quite a lot of connections going to our Postgres RDS, so much we've had to reduce the threshold of some of our logging to avoid spikes in costs. Wondering if this anyone could help in identifying what this could be, and/or if there's a parameter we can tweak to reduce the amount of connections it's doing?

The image below shows the amount of authorised requests going to one of our test databases.

Experimental flags have certain risk so hold of enabling it in production.
