Revise home page

The home page is much too busy. Most of the information there can be moved to a series of about pages, or something like that for people who want the details.

Come up with a much simpler home page that gets to the point in one sentence, with links to the details and just a few calls to action.

This really should be done before sharing, because it's one of the first things people will (rightly) point out.
