Description

A "data bio" outlines the context in which a data set exists. It includes metadata about the dataset to help consumers of the data understand the contexts and potential biases the data may hold.

Potential solution

• Define the metadata we want to include (the categories in the CIVIC example above are particularly useful).
• Create bios for each data set referenced on the site.
• Design a template/wireframe.
• Figure out where in the site architecture the bios belong (e.g. should there be a link/footnote at the end of a data citation? simply a page with an index of all sets used on the site?)
