The security repo has lingering usages of the legacy terms like opendistro is API paths, these are replaced with /_plugins/_security, however legacy paths are not explicitly marked as deprecated. This task is to track marking opendistro API paths as deprecated and add replacement with new path if missing.

What solution would you like?
Mark opendistro API paths as deprecated, removal in a next major version.

[Triage] Thank you for filing this issue Shikhar. When removing _opendistro we need to make sure that SAML auth is updated in tandem in the security-dashboards-plugin. See #5066 (comment)
