The Operator Framework project needs vision and strategy document in order to drive innovation and balance competing priorities.

This document will document the short- and long-term goals and strategy for the project. This will provide a rallying point to both inspire and prioritize work.

Action items:

  • Add to the agenda of the next community meeting
  • Create a meeting to discuss and outline the new document
    • Ask participants to read our current vision and strategy artifacts (for example, the OLM v1 Roadmap)
    • Ask participants to come prepared to discuss what already exists and form an outline for the new doc
  • Write a draft of the new doc
  • Present it to the community for review
  • Iterate and refine

Initial thoughts:

  • We want a doc that has clear touch points that the community can refer to guide decisions
  • In order to stay relevant, we should feel empowered to update the doc when our vision changes, objectives are completed, or inspiration hits

I have realized that I do not have the time to drive this initiative, though I would like to help if someone else can lead.
