I hope this message finds you well. My name is Srishty M, and I am writing on behalf of Google developer groups (GDG on Campus NITR) community, previously known Google Developers Students Club, nitr. We are an enthusiastic community focused on promoting open-source contributions and technological advancements among students and professionals.

We are excited to propose a collaboration with __ for an upcoming event that aligns perfectly with our mutual goals: a Winter of Code program. This event is designed to serve as a preparation for larger initiatives like Google Summer of Code and other open-source programs, providing participants with valuable experience and mentorship.

Event Overview:

• Event Name: Autumn of Code
• Objective: To prepare students and professionals for open-source contributions and enhance their skills through hands-on projects.
• Target Audience: Students, early-career professionals, and open-source enthusiasts.

Tentative Timeline:

• August Mid - September End: Registration Period for Projects, Contributors, and Mentors
• October - January: Contribution Period
  • Participants will be guided through various projects, receive mentorship, and have the opportunity to contribute to open-source repositories.

Event Structure:

• Project Registrations: Project maintainers will register their projects.
• Contributor Registrations: Participants will register as contributors.
• Mentor Registrations: Mentors will register to provide guidance and support to the contributors.
• Workshops and Webinars: Conduct sessions on open-source contributions, version control, project management, and other relevant topics.
• Mentorship Program: Experienced developers and industry professionals will mentor participants, helping them navigate project contributions.
• Leaderboard: A leaderboard will be maintained based on the amount of contribution, the number of PRs merged, etc. The top 3 contributors will receive prizes.

Proposed Collaboration:

We believe that collaborating with __ will significantly enhance the reach and impact of this event. In addition to our shared goals in technology, we also aim to promote human responsibility through this initiative. Here are some specific areas where members from both communities can work together:

1. Website Development: Jointly develop and maintain the event website, ensuring it is user-friendly and scalable.
2. Public Relations and Marketing: Collaborate on promotional activities to reach a wider audience, including social media campaigns, newsletters, and partnerships.
3. Event Organization: Share responsibilities in organizing workshops, webinars, and mentoring sessions.
4. Mentorship: Engage members from both communities as mentors to guide participants through their projects.
5. Resource Sharing: Share tools, platforms, and resources to facilitate smooth execution of the event.
6. Sponsorship and Partnerships: Work together to reach out to potential sponsors and community partners to support the event, both in terms of funding and resources.
