Doubt regarding Contribution

As last night in Onboarding meet , Sanjay sir explain everything well manner .
As i am joined this open-source program first time , I have a doubt that , when we got the project list and we choose an project repository , then how we come to know that what is the error and what we have to do for a change ?
can anybody elaborate it
And what is the Point system for contributing as Sanjay sir mentioned?

Thank you for your question! The project list will be available on October 1st, and the coding period starts from 6 PM. You will be able to view the project list in the project section of the official GSSoC page. Once the projects are listed, you can choose any project, run it, or check the deployed link for errors. If you find any issues, you can raise an issue on GitHub and request to be assigned to that issue. Remember, you should start working only after the issue is assigned to you.

Regarding the points system for contributions that Sanjay sir mentioned:

• Level 1: 10 points
• Level 2: 25 points
• Level 3: 45 points

but i have one more doubt that first i have to use that project then find the bugs on my own ? , as i thought issues are already mentioned their?

@priyans877 you can raised the issue or can work on existing one (I'll recommend to raise the issue as existing one might be outdated or already fixed)

Hello @priyans877 In some cases, issues are already mentioned in the project, and you can start working on those. However, in other cases, you may need to use the project first, explore it, and then find bugs or areas for improvement on your own. If you notice any bugs or potential features that haven't been reported yet, you can open a new issue and work on it

During my time in GSSoC, I opened issues myself and tried to work on new features and bug fixes in the project. You can do the same, depending on what you want to do

raise new issues of your idea or features you can add to the project and after it is assigned with level and type of level start working on it and send PR

SO first refer the projects section to know more about the projects that are selected for gssoc extended program .Then analyze the project and then start contributing to them via opening a new issue and the completing the issue via a pull request .
If you have doubts related to github then please refer the academy page in the gssoc main website and then take insights form the videos .
