Do I need to change the coordinator for coinjoin to start?

Hello, good morning,
I used to use coinjoin by default without any problem.

Now a few days ago I made a new deposit in Wasabi and I saw a message that since June 1st I had to change the coordinator. I did not pay much attention but after a few days there is no way to start the Coinjoin. So I understand that I have to change the coordinator in configuration?

Can anyone help me with the steps I have to follow to be able to start coinjoin?

Hi,

yes, the the defafult (zkSNACKs) coordinator suspended it's coinjoin service since june 1 2024.
So if you want to coinjoin you need to connect to another coordinator.
Since 2.0.8 you can easily do this by changing the Coordinator URI in the Settings.

To find a new coordinator you can use the following tools:

A 1% limit has existed in all version to prevent overpaying, but the configurable limit that was added in v2.0.8.1 had a bug that allowed it to be bypassed under certain conditions. Here is the full disclosure of the incident: #13249

Just want to say that's horrible @EnrriqueTomas , a total scam fee indeed imo.

I just came from this thread where everybody is hating on @Kruwed, leaving me thinking like wth is going on, and here I see his name again.

3 things here:

• We are not responsible of the actions of coordinators. We only maintain the integration, and take care of security for users so coordinator cannot be malicious. We are sorry @EnrriqueTomas that you got robbed. We removed things like the coordination fee rate and added extra layer of securities to avoid problems like this
• @wtechgo You will always see everyone dunking on Wasabi all the time. There are several reasons for that but the main is that people with loudest voice have something else to sell you (Whirlpool, Monero, Forks of Wasabi.... bla bla bla).
• @wtechgo Kruw has been contributing in Wasabi since a long time, but has no affiliation whatsoever with maintainers. Wasabi being an open source software, we have no control over who contributes. Feel free to contribute as well.
