Who was Max Eschig, the man behind Éditions Max Eschig?

From Durand Salabert Eschig:

https://www.durand-salabert-eschig.com/en-GB/About-Us/Eschig.aspx

The company was founded in 1907 by Max Eschig, who was Czech. His catalog was devoted to 20th century composers, including Eric Satie.

He published many Spanish and Latin American composers, including Manuel de Falla (who wrote the intro to "Escuela Razonada"), Isaac Albéniz, Heitor Villa-Lobos, Leo Brouwer and Emilio Pujol.

Durand bought Éditions Max Eschig in 1987. Publishers Durand, Salabert, Eschig and Ricordi were owned by BMG (dates unknown) and sold to Universal Music Publishing Group in 2007.
