Defining footnotes inside macros #6

I defined a footnote inside a macro, e.g:

[a_macro_application ]::
Defining a footnote[^1]
::

[^1]: footnote content

This footnote should appear and it is not. v3.0.1

There is a workaround

[a_macro_application ]::
Defining a footnote[^1]

[^1]: complete definition inside the marcro application is going to work+/-
::
