Getting and running Belki

Please follow the instructions for your operating system.

MacOS 10.13 or newer

We provide a Apple Disk Image installer.

  1. Download Belki-*.dmg from here
  2. Double-click on the file to open it
  3. Use drag & drop to copy the application to your Applications folder

Now run Belki from the Finder/Applications.

Windows 7 or newer

We provide a portable executable that runs without installation.

  1. Download Belki-*-Windows.zip from here
  2. Extract belki.exe from the archive to a convenient location

Now run belki.exe (double-click) from there.

Linux (any variant)

We provide a Flatpak bundle.

  1. Ensure Flatpak is installed on your system (see Flatpak's Quick Setup page).
  2. Download Belki-*.flatpak from here
  3. Double-click the file to open in your software catalogue and press install, or run flatpak install Belki-*.flatpak in a terminal

Now run Belki from your application menu, or run flatpak run de.uni_freiburg.Belki in a terminal.

Loading a dataset or project

To start fresh, import your own data into Belki by dropping a file onto the Belki window, or the respective menu items. Please see File Formats for what data format Belki expects.
