When IMAP commands are too long (for example, UID SET to big), server may fail. A better approach would be to split commands in chunks, but this needs to be well design to avoid conflicts (not same result between chunks calls).
The algorithm is already in place for listing envelopes, it needs to be replicated for other UID/sequence-based features like copy messages.
