Michelle restored a December 2019 version of the repo to find a working compile.R script. We will need to explore the commits she made from December 2019 through March 2020, which solved some inconsistencies in the data, and other user-spotted issues with the website.

I identified two commits that could be important

  1. "fixed gmex files so that there are no longer parsing errors."
  • at the moment, the Gulf of Mexico data processing still produces hanging columns that are empty
  • this does not affect the final data format, but does throw warnings in the R script
  • look to see if this previous commit by Michelle resolves this
  1. "added bigelow conversion function and data but am not done combining this with neus data"
  • may be very useful as I look to incorporate the conversion factors into our NEUS data processing
  • looks like Michelle created a function for the bigelow conversions
