Countdown overlaps parts of the content

If the browser window is not high enough, the countdown overlaps parts of the content. With my 15" screen and chromium this leads to a cut-off after

For "Ablauf", there is no text visible after "Mittagessen". I tried to fix it myself with margins or paddings, but there seems to be some css or html quirks that prevent this from working (http://validator.w3.org/).
