CircleCI has not updated any of its Clojure images since 1.11.1 (released two and a half years ago!) so maybe the project should switch to GitHub Actions instead?

An alternative, since CircleCI supports standard Docker images, is to switch to something like clojure:temurin-21-tools-deps-1.12.0.1479

The PR above stays with CircleCI but switches the image to the "official" Clojure image from Docker, so it can test on 1.12.0.
