[Dell XPS 15" 9550] Bluetooth not working reliably #2125
Comments
This looks like a duplicate of #1153. Can you confirm the symptoms are the same? |
It looks similar, but as long as I don't switch the Power profile back to Hybrid, there will be no BT. But when BT doesn't work, that part (the symptom) looks the same. It's not triggered randomly, but seems to be triggered by the NVIDIA power profile. |
@jacobgkau I tried the solutions in that particular post (#1153). None of them seem to change any behavior. BT seems dead, until I switch to "Hybrid Graphics" mode. |
Okay..... I can't even get BT to work on "Integrated -" (Intel), "Hybrid -" & "NVIDIA Graphics"... Men, I don't know what changed since 21.04, but this all just worked before. What could have caused it? 🤔 |
Can you please clarify-- you previously said it worked only in Hybrid mode, but it doesn't work in Hybrid either now? |
Indeed, now nothing works. I'm at the point where I'm about to do a fresh install, just to fix BT for my mouse and headphones. I discovered this bug during a meeting where I had to switch to the nvidia mode to show a 3d model of my new house. I couldn't really navigate properly. |
Randomly started working again... after 2 days and 3 reboots in between.. idk man, this is frustrating. The only updates I saw coming where the nVidia updates from yesterday
Do they have the capability to break (or fix in this case) BT? |
I just learned more people from other distro's who just updated their nvidia drivers also had bluetooth stopped working. In different periods over the year, but this one seems to match my description most: https://www.reddit.com/r/openSUSE/comments/r39ct2/nvidia_drivers_bluetooth_are_broken_in_last/ |
I give up... it seems to work and stop working at random moments |
Regarding closed issue: #2079
Bluetooth works when I have selected my power profile to "Hybrid Graphics". However, as soon as I switch to dedicated "NVIDIA Graphics", my bluetooth is dead. It reports wrong, it doesn't toggle on or off and I don't get any settings options.
